How To Get Illness Insurance?
By admin | June 18, 2008
It is a sad fact that even if we live a healthy lifestyle, as we get older we are more prone to sickness; although critical illness insurance can worry some people, this type of cover can provide peace of mind should your health fail at some point. Providing financial peace of mind for your family by taking out protection for a mere few dollars each week, does not seem as important to most of us as having that luxury cup of coffee every day during lunch.
Insurance providers, acting on the statistical information they receive from research institutes now offer this type of protection to every one of their customers.
Studies have highlighted the problem with almost one man in five by the time they retire having a serious medical condition. The studies only provide women with a little better chance with one in six having serious health problems by the time they stop work.
According to the insurance companies, critical illness insurance is not very high on the general publics list of things to organize and this could be through ignorance or just that we do not believe the chances of it happening are that high. Although this type of protection is taken out for many reasons, the majority of people use it to protect their mortgage repayments but these days, critical illness cover and life insurance can be linked directly with mortgage repayments.
These days increasing numbers of people decide to use the Internet to arrange their insurance plans and more recently cover for critical illness has also become available. For obvious reasons there will be certain things that require physical evidence so these plans are not always smooth sailing to organize. The main reason for this is the requirement by insurance providers to have the applicant take a medical examination before they issue cover. This type of situation can lead to unsympathetic communications between the company and the customer if they try to make a claim on their critical illness insurance plan.
Of course smokers will pay more for their cover, even if they have given up within the previous year as they are still believed to be in a high risk group. Insurance companies place smoking at the top of their list but other areas of your life can affect how much you pay for your premium like your age, physical health, activities you may participate in and the type of work you do.
Terminal illness patients will also appreciate their critical illness insurance when they realize it pays for any medical expenses in addition to those needed for day to day living. For people that have families, there shouldn’t even be a discussion about whether this type of plan should be arranged, should there?
